The story
Aloha Friday began in Hawaiʻi in the 1960s with a simple idea: trade the suits for aloha shirts and bring a little more island spirit into the workweek. The tradition eventually helped inspire Casual Friday around the world.
But it was always about more than what you wore.
It was about enjoying the journey, sharing good energy, and appreciating the people around you.
That spirit has been part of our story from the beginning.
Nick, who co-founded bundleIQ, grew up in Hawaiʻi and got his first surfboard when he was five.
Surfing became a lifelong passion. So did Aloha Friday.
In 2010, he quit his job, packed a van, and set off across the country chasing waves.
For more than 10,000 miles, the van was home, the ocean was the destination, and a little hula girl named Alani danced on the dashboard.
She was there for the sunrises, empty lineups, wrong turns, and thousands of miles in between.
Wherever the road led, she kept dancing.
Years later, when we began developing technology that allowed people to have conversations with their own data, Alani found a new purpose.
She'd always been someone to talk to. Now she could answer.
That early work grew into patented technology for making knowledge easier to discover, understand, and share.
Today, Alani is our AI companion, helping people explore ideas, connect knowledge, and discover new possibilities.
Sixteen years and a whole lot of innovation later, she's still along for the ride.
And she's still dancing.
In Hawaiʻi, aloha is more than hello or goodbye. It embodies kindness, generosity, respect, and connection.
Hula is a living tradition of passing down stories, history, and knowledge from one generation to the next.
There's an old Hawaiian proverb that captures something we believe deeply.
ʻAʻohe pau ka ʻike i ka hālau hoʻokahi.
No one school holds all the knowledge.
No one has all the answers. We each see the world a little differently, shaped by what we've learned and experienced.
And that's a beautiful thing.
When we share our perspectives and build on each other's ideas, we create possibilities none of us could have imagined alone.
That's collective intelligence.
It's the belief behind bundleIQ and the reason we built Alani: to help people connect what they know, learn from one another, and turn curiosity into something meaningful.
Aloha Friday is our way of celebrating that spirit, and the people who make it possible.
The journey
Every meaningful connection begins with curiosity.
We notice something new. Ask questions. Share what we learn. Connect ideas. And find new possibilities in the people and perspectives around us.
Our eight Aloha Friday drops celebrate that journey.
Eight words. Same wavelength.
One new drop every Friday, through the last Friday of December. The Holiday 2026 collection concludes December 31.
Stay curious. Enjoy the ride.
Good waves. Good people. Good ideas worth sharing.
